Christmas in September

By RAY CHESNICK, JR.

"Ho, Ho, Ho! "No, it isn't a few months too early to hear that familiar phrase and it was heard quite frequently when New Dimensions presented their 2nd Annual Christmas Celebration in September over Labor Day Weekend. For the festivities, the halls of New Dimensions were decked to the hilt with Christmas.

This three day event created much

delight and eye twinkling merriment for the many people who attended. In addition to Santa's many gifts Salvation Army ashtrays, cap guns, etc. the partygoers were treated to a typical Christmas buffet of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and assorted relish trays. Many a belly was filled by this spread!

Exedra's Summerfest

by RAY CHESNICK, JR.' For the second time, Exedra hosted Summerfest during Labor Day Weekend. This year's attendance was far above. last year's and the hundreds in attendance had a two day feast.

Miz. D, Melissa Ross, and dozens of their friends entertained while the crowd milled around the outdoor parking lot drinking, eating food from the many concessions, buying

picnic tickets and attempting to dunk "fools" in the dunking booth. During entertainment breaks, dancing, water balloon tossing, and roller skating took over.

Next year, again over Labor Day Weekend, Summerfest '82 will bring a breath of air to the beginning of fall.

Bring slowly to a boil

If you heat the kettle slowly enough, it's been said, frogs die in lazy comfort. They just fall asleep

Do you feel a little drowsy?

The Bible shouters are stoking up the fires Especially here in Washington. DC This is the hot core which sends out heat across the country. It's where a change in national law can cook us all together

Gay Rights National Lobby is at the center, rallying our friends in Congress to help put out the fires. We've had success-expanding support and co-sponsorship of gay/lesbian civil rights bills. generating thousands of letters to Congress, fighting anti-gay bills such as the "McDonald Resolution" and the "Family Protection Act," and bringing together coalitions with other groups who also feel the danger. In the Advocate, October 16, 1980, you can find an independent evaluation of our work: “On an absurdly low budget, GRNL is producing miracles. Imagine what they could do if we really supported them."

We ask again for your real support. The heat's on right now and we truly need your contributions. Please wake up. Let's not go like frogs.
